All About Katie
Hi, I’m Katie!
Katherine is my full name, but Katie is what I go by and what my clients call me, too.
I’m a freelance content writer, author, and blogger. I blog about life, transformation, and creativity, and I help people like you tell stories, shape ideas, and bring clarity to their message. If you’re a therapist, coach, or consultant with something meaningful to share but you’re not sure how to express it in writing, I’m here to help.
I create content that reflects your voice and values, whether that’s blog posts, grant materials, client resources, or a book of your own. Words matter. And when they’re intentional, honest, and clear, they help you connect with the people you’re meant to serve.
As an author, I’ve written my first book, 10 Self-Love Letters for Tough Days, and I’m currently working on my second, a creative nonfiction memoir about transformation, friendship, and finding your voice. Writing is both my profession and my personal practice, and I bring that same care and intention into the work I create for others.
Why work with me?
I’m a skilled writer, and it’s my passion.
I’ve been writing for as long as I can remember, and now I get to use that passion to support people doing meaningful work.
I’m tenacious.
I see the big picture and care deeply about the details. I can help you shape your ideas into something that feels clear, aligned, and true to your mission.
I can get you up and running with content — fast.
Whether you’re starting from a blank page or a scattered brainstorm, I bring structure, clarity, and momentum to your content.
Let Me Tell You a Story…
I’ve been trying to bake a cake with my career, but it’s never quite turned out the way I expected it to.
I’ve gathered all these ingredients, some of which I didn’t know what to do with at first. However, the more I mix them together and find others to add to the recipe, the closer I get to creating the cake (career) I want.
By ingredients, I mean skills. And by cake, I mean my dream career.
My journey has led me to focus on the knowledge, experiences, and creative gifts I do have, and use them to build Katie’s Content Writing and bring value to others.
I have two Psychology degrees:
- A B.S. in Psychology
- A Master’s in Industrial-Organizational Psychology
That’s where the research, writing, and communication ingredients came to me.
I also have three years of professional experience working in technology support roles in education, both at an ISD and a small private school.
This is where I picked up a few more key ingredients:
- Talking to people, listening, and solving problems
- Creating training guides and classroom resources
- Developing a love of learning and trying new things
After that, I spent two years at a nonprofit where I managed technology-based education programs. I created internal training materials, helped our team learn new program curriculum, and even wrote impact stories that highlighted how our students were transforming through their learning.
That’s where I realized how much I love telling stories! Especially the ones that show what’s possible.
Now, I’m in my second year as a contract grant content writer, and this work has added even more depth to my writing. I’m a partner to one outstanding grant writing consultant, providing straightforward, funder-ready content that really saves her time. I love helping her grow her business by making the writing part easier!
I’ve always known I wanted to write. My background in psychology, education, nonprofits, and grant writing has given me tons of ingredients to work with as I continue baking this content writing cake, one layer at a time.
